Chaga mushroom growing on a tree trunk in a forest

Immune, antioxidant and gut health support of chaga

Chaga can only be wild-harvested and contains naturally occurring beta-glucans, melanin, and inotodio. Chaga grows as a dark, cracked mass on birch trees in cold northern forests. Inside that rough black exterior is a dense orange-brown interior that has been used for generations in teas, decoctions, and traditional preparations.

Our supplement provides a pure and potent formula to deliver the astounding strength of chaga to you.

Only mushrooms, no filler

All of our extracts are made by hand, in small batches, using only glass containers and the highest quality ingredients. We follow a dual-extraction process which is proven to be the most effective way to capture the full spectrum of beneficial compounds. Always using 100% mushroom fruit body, never any starch, fillers or mycelium fermented grains.

Harvested with care

Ingredients and quality matter. We focus on quality over quantity. Our chaga is ethically wild harvested in NY state, and processed organically by us, on our farm to guarantee the freshest and most nutrient dense quality.

Chaga's traditional use

Chaga’s relationship with birch trees is part of what makes it distinct. It has a long history of use in Russia, northern Europe, parts of Asia, and northern North America, where people traditionally simmered it into a dark tea. The Siberian Khanty people pictured here, are supposed to be one of the earliest indigenous groups to enjoy the health benefits of chaga. The flavor is earthy, slightly bitter, and sometimes almost vanilla-like or coffee-like, depending on how it is prepared. For many people, Chaga became a daily tonic because it was warming, mineral-rich in taste, and easy to prepare with long simmering.

Family run

Sugarshack Mushrooms is a family-run organic mushroom farm in New Paltz, New York, in the Hudson Valley. Since 2018, we’ve been growing a wide variety of nutrient-dense gourmet mushrooms, selected for both their culinary qualities and their health benefits.

Responsible farming

Every part of our process is done by hand, from harvest to bottling. We are committed to farming with a low impact on the land, producing potent and nutrient-dense products, and helping to expand awareness of the enjoyment and benefits that mushrooms offer.

Powered by the sun

Powered by the solar panels covering the barn and farmhouse, the same sun that drives the forest ecosystems is now what powers our grow rooms, processing, and production. Thanks to a farm sustainability grant from our county (Ulster County Agricultural Farm Grants Program), our farm now operates entirely on solar power.
