Mushroom Cooking Tips & Recipes
How to Cook Mushrooms
Sauté mushrooms with onions, and garlic in butter or oil . Use as a side or to add to almost anything: eggs, stir fry’s, toast, rice dishes, noodles, etc
To roast mushrooms toss them in oil or a marinade until evenly coated. Roast in the oven until tender and slightly crisped. You can roast them on their own or along with other vegetables or meat.
Eating mushrooms raw is not recommended. Make sure to cook your mushrooms. Heating them thoroughly releases their nutrients, such as protein, B vitamins, and minerals.
Cleaning your mushrooms: do not wash mushrooms under running water, if there is any dirt or debris on them simply brush off with a moist towel.
Store your mushrooms in a paper bag in the fridge (ideally in the crisper) to preserve freshness for as long as possible.
Use all of your mushrooms! The stems and bases on all of our mushrooms are edible. Some mushrooms have slightly tougher stems or bases. When cooking, toss those in first to cook for a little longer than the rest of your mushrooms.
